The Skyline College Women's Wrestling Team is back and building on the momentum of a historic inaugural season.
After an exceptional first year, finishing 1st in Northern California and 3rd overall in California, the Trojans are focused and ready for another competitive season.
Skyline opened the year yesterday at their first competition of the season at Sierra College, facing strong programs from across the region. The team finished 5th out of 10 colleges, gaining valuable early-season experience against tough competition.
Individual highlights included:
- Jax Saeed (207 lbs) – 1st Place
- Yahaira Torres (103 lbs) – 3rd Place
- Isabel Zepeda (235 lbs) – 3rd Place (competing unattached, Zepeda also serves as an assistant coach and mentor for the Skyline program)
The Trojans battled through several challenging matches, particularly in the 131-pound weight class, setting the tone for continued growth and development throughout the season.
Congratulations to the entire Skyline Women's Wrestling team for their commitment, hard work, and dedication. Their discipline, resilience, and team-first mentality continue to represent Skyline College with pride and excellence.
With last year's success as motivation and a strong team culture in place, Skyline Women's Wrestling looks forward to another exciting and successful season. The Trojans will compete next Saturday at the Cerritos College Tournament in Norwalk, California.
Skyline Women's Wrestling remains hungry, focused, and ready to compete at the highest level in California.
