Bio
Women’s wrestling has grown tremendously over the years, and Coach Isabel Zepeda has experienced that evolution firsthand—from being the only girl on a team competing against boys to becoming part of fully established women’s wrestling programs. She brings eight years of competitive wrestling experience and five years of coaching experience, working with athletes at all levels from youth to collegiate.
Coach Zepeda began her collegiate career at San Joaquin Delta College, where she competed for two seasons on the school’s first-ever women’s wrestling team. During her freshman season, she finished third in the state of California (3C2A), earned All-Conference Second Team honors, and was a two-time Academic All-American. In her sophomore season, she earned a second-place finish at the state level (3C2A), was again named All-Conference Second Team, and became a two-time All-American.
Her accolades also include Women’s Wrestling Mustang of the Year (2024), team captain, and a two-time Torch of Excellence Student-Athlete Award recipient. Beyond competition, Coach Zepeda values the opportunity to wrestle, coach, and network in diverse training environments, gaining experience alongside athletes and coaches of varying backgrounds and skill levels.
As of 2026, Coach Zepeda looks forward to the continued growth and success of the Skyline College Women’s Wrestling program. She is committed to helping athletes make an impact both individually and collectively, emphasizing grit, dedication, and daily effort. With a strong passion for the sport and a strong work ethic, she is excited to see what the team will accomplish in the upcoming season.
