Bio
Coach Geovanny Aguilar has been involved in the sport of wrestling since 1991, beginning his competitive career at Rosemead High School. During his high school career, he was a three-time state qualifier, a two-time freestyle state champion, and a two-time Greco-Roman state placer (third place). He also competed at the prestigious Fargo Nationals, earning a fifth-place finish.
Following high school, Coach Geo was recruited to Cal State Bakersfield before returning home to compete at Rio Hondo Community College, where he became a two-time All-American. He later transferred to San Francisco State University and was a member of the Gators’ National Championship team in 1997, where he completed his collegiate wrestling career.
As a coach, Geo has worked throughout the Bay Area and has helped develop 11 NCS/CCS champions, 23 CIF state qualifiers, 10 state placers, and two state champions. His coaching philosophy emphasizes performing at a high level of competition while building confidence, discipline, and resilience. Coach Geo places a strong focus on punctuality, integrity, and attitude, while creating a positive team environment that allows athletes to learn, compete, and reach their highest potential.
