Skyline Moves on to NorCal Round of Eight

Skyline defeated Laney College Thursday night 70-59 to advance to the NorCal round of Eight. Skyline jumped out to a five-point lead after the first quarter and a six-point halftime lead, before Laney made a third quarter run.  A Lala Lautaimi buzzer-beater to finish the third quarter helped Skyline maintain a two-point lead. 

The fourth quarter remained close until a quick burst of scoring extended Skyline's lead to nine.  The Trojans would hit enough free throws down the stretch to hold off the Eagles and advance to the final round of the NorCal Playoffs.  A win on Saturday would send Skyline to the State Championship Tournament. 

Lautaimi lead all scorers with 27 points.  Malia Latu added 25 points as both players also had double-doubles with points and rebounds.
