Trojans Continue Perfect Start to Season
Wins over Monterey Peninsula College and Merritt College propel Skyline to a 4-0 mark
Women's basketball collected two more wins this week. On Tuesday, Skyline defeated Monterey Peninsula College 98-67. The Trojans lead by 12 at halftime and MPC kept the game close in the 3rd Quarter. Skyline's offense got hot in the 4th and outscored the Lobos 31-11 to pull away for the win. Skyline had five players score in double figures, Malia Latu (26), Lala Lautaimi (17), Jalene Parangan (14), Tatiana Newsome (12), and Cass Stanley (10).
On Thursday, Skyline defeated Merritt College by a final score of 100-54. Skyline picked up where they left off on Tuesday night, and raced out to a 20-point halftime lead. A strong 3rd Quarter helped put the game away as the Trojans cruised to a victory. Skyline once again had five players score in double figures with Latu (21) leading the way. Lautaimi added 15, Parangan and Karen Zhu had 11 each, and Angie Olive finished with 10.
Skyline will return to action this Thursday, November 18 when they host Solano College at 5pm
