Bio
Matt Fochtman begins his third season as an assistant coach at Skyline College, returning to where he began his collegiate playing career. Fochtman suited up for the Trojans from 2007-09. As a sophomore he helped Skyline reach the regional semi-final of the state tournament. Fochtman led the team in scoring, rebounding, blocked shots and FG%. He scored a career-high of 32 points (13-16 FG's) against College of Marin. Fochtman went on to sign a full scholarship. He completed his playing career at San Francisco State University, where he led the team in FG%.
Fochtman's coaching experience includes two seasons as an assistant coach at Archbishop Riordan High School, winning the Central Coast Section Championship in 2019. Fochtman has also coached for Team Arsenal, a premier AAU basketball team in Northern California.
Fochtman prepped at Mills High School in Millbrae. As a senior, he was named 1st Team All-PAL, All-County, and All-Metro Honorable Mention.
Matt earned his bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from San Francisco State University. He earned his master's degree in Advanced Exercise Science from Concordia University in Chicago, Illinois.
