Brunicardi to Represent CCCBCA on Hitting Hot Stove Panel at 2026 ABCA Convention
December 13, 2025
Skyline College Head Baseball Coach Tony Brunicardi will represent the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association (CCCBCA) as a panelist at the annual American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Convention, scheduled for January 8–10, 2026, in Columbus, Ohio.
Brunicardi will participate in the Hitting Hot Stove Panel on Saturday, Jan. 10, at 7 p.m. CST. The session will be moderated by Butte College Head Baseball Coach Anthony Ferro and will feature a group of accomplished coaches sharing insights and experiences related to offensive development and the evolving landscape of baseball.
The ABCA Convention offers a wide range of professional development opportunities beyond the traditional clinic halls, providing coaches with meaningful opportunities to connect, exchange ideas, and engage in conversations surrounding the future of the game. Hot Stove panels are designed to foster open dialogue and allow attendees to learn directly from experienced leaders at all levels of baseball.
In four seasons at the helm of the Skyline College program, Brunicardi has elevated the Trojans both on and off the field. Since 2021, Skyline has posted a 120–52 (.698) overall record and a 57–23 (.713) mark in Coast North Conference play, ranking eighth statewide in winning percentage during that span. The Trojans have captured three Coast North Conference Championships (2022, 2024, 2025), qualified for the postseason in each season, and advanced to three Super Regional appearances (2022, 2024, 2025).
Ferro brings extensive experience to the panel, having compiled 527 career victories during his 22-year tenure as head coach at Butte College. He was named ABCA Two-Year College National Coach of the Year in 2021 and has led the Roadrunners to three Golden Valley Conference championships and numerous NorCal Regional Playoff appearances. Among the many players developed under Ferro is Connor Blair, the 2017–18 CCCSIA State Men's Athlete of the Year, who led the state in home runs (21) and RBI (77) during the 2018 season before transferring to the University of Washington. Blair was selected in the 15th round of the 2019 MLB Draft by the Atlanta Braves.
