Skyline Earns 12 All-Conference Awards
The 2025 Coast Conference North All-Conference selections were announced, with 12 Trojans earning honors. Headlined by the Coast Conference North Pitcher of the Year, Steven Dalton, the Trojans had four First Team selections, three Second Team selections, and four Honorable Mention selections. The awards are voted on by the six head coaches from the conference.
For the second time in four seasons, the Skyline College Trojans have the Coast Conference North Pitcher of the Year. Steven Dalton, a freshman left-handed pitcher from Terra Nova High School in Pacifica, was named Pitcher of the Year following a dominant season on the mound. This season, Steven threw 67.2 innings with a 2.39 ERA. Additionally, he struck out 67 hitters while allowing only 53 hits and 18 walks. After making 12 starts, Steven finished the regular season with seven wins and just one loss.
Sophomore Ethan Reader earned First Team All-Conference Infield honors. Playing every game at shortstop, Reader led the Trojans in batting average (.358), runs scored (45), runs batted in (39), and stolen bases (22). Gabriel Melara, a sophomore outfielder from Sacred Heart Cathedral High School, earned First Team All-Conference Outfield honors after leading the Trojans in extra-base hits (21). Freshman catcher Vinhson Nguyen was named First Team catcher after leading the conference in runners caught stealing (16). Lastly, Devin Costa, a sophomore from Half Moon Bay High School, was named First Team Relief Pitcher. Costa dominated the late innings with a 1.30 earned run average over 34.2 innings, while striking out 29 hitters and walking only five.
The Second Team All-Conference selections also featured several Trojans. Freshman infielder Makai Susor, freshman pitcher Luca Dickinson, and freshman outfielder Trey Johnson were all named to the Second Team. Susor, a third baseman from St. Ignatius High School, batted .350 while playing outstanding defense. Dickinson, also from St. Ignatius, took on many roles for the Trojan pitching staff, accumulating four wins without a loss. Johnson, an outfielder from Berkeley High School, finished the year as the team leader in home runs (4).
Nikau Heeney, Tyler Pechetti, Santino Nanez, and Nick Tobin were all named to the All-Conference Team as Honorable Mentions. With nine wins and just one loss, Heeney ranked in the top five in Northern California in wins. Sophomore right-handed pitcher Tyler Pechetti, out of Carlmont High School, finished third on the Trojans' staff in innings pitched with 57. Playing in 38 of 39 games, freshman Santino Nanez finished third on the team in batting average (.353) and stolen bases (17). Finally, Nick Tobin finished the 2025 regular season as the Coast Conference North batting champion with a .420 average.
