Trojans use 11-2 start to earn #8 state ranking
Skyline Baseball is off to a fast start in 2022 under 1st year head coach Anthony Burincardi. The Trojans moved to #8 in the CCCSIA state rankings on the strength of a 11-2 pre-conference record.
Skyline took 2 of 3 games from Lassen College this week and have won 11 of the past 12 games.
The Skyline offense has been on point early in the season, hitting an impressive .304 as a team, scoring 111 runs, slugging 13 home runs and stealing 40 bases.
Freshman Camron Grant is having a breakout season, hitting .432, with 2 home runs and 17 RBI. Freshman Jace Jeremiah has scored 17 runs and stolen 9 bases. Freshman Jesse Pierce leads the team in home runs with 3.
Trojan pitchers have been dominant in the early season, striking out 114 opposing batters in 115 innings pitched. Skyline ranks 2nd in the state with a 2.43 ERA.
Freshman right hander Conor Hourigan is 4-0 with a 30 strikeouts in 23 IP and a 1.90 ERA. Freshman Rowen Barnes has 2 wins and a 1.50 ERA thought 24 innings pitched.
